The next KUMBH MELA is taking place soon:
From January to April 2021 in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, North India.

The Kumbh Mela is the grandest spiritual cultural mystical event on the planet. It is also regarded as the largest peaceful gathering of humans on Earth.

In India, every twelve years, millions of Saints, Sadhus, Spiritual Seers, Seekers and Hindu Devotees gather at either one of the four designated Hindu sacred sites of Prayag in Allahabad, Trimbak-Nashik, Ujjain or Haridwar, along the banks of the holy rivers of India, as part of the ritual gathering of the Kumbh Mela. While the Great ‘Maha’ Kumbh Mela takes place every 144 years. In 2013, the year of the last Maha Kumbh, a staggering number of 120 million people met in Allahabad over a period of two months. The day of February 10th, 2013, alone witnessed a footfall of 30 million people at the festival grounds.

Rishikesh is the ideal homebase and starting point for visitors of the Kumbh Mela 2021. It will be busy here but much less crowded than in the neighbouring Haridwar.
