Recommendation: Rajaji National Park

Established in 1966, it is spread over 820 sq km (crossing the districts Haridwar, Dehradun and Pauri Garhwal). Wild animal species found in Rajaji National Park include: elephants, a good number of Tigers and Leopards, as well as Jungle Cat, Striped Hyena, Indian Hare, Sloth Bear, Himalayan Black Bear, King Cobra, Jackal, Barking Deer, Sambhar, Wild boar, Rhesus macaque, Indian langur, Monitor lizard, Python.

Recommendation: Corbett National Park

The first wildlife reserve of India, extending over an area of more than 500 sq km in the Himalayan foothills, Corbett National Park was established in 1936. The elevation of the park ranges between 400 and 1200 m. Although the main highlights of Jim Corbett Park are the endangered Bengal tigers, leopards and crocodiles, yet other wildlife animals like sambas, hogs, otters, boars, elephants, sloths, gorals, pangolins and langurs can be easily spotted. Also black bucks, spotted deers, Himalayan Black bears, Indian Grey Mongoose, peacocks, eagles, jungle fowls, parakeets and nearly 600 species of birds.
