Auli
Located 265 km from Rishikesh, Auli is a popular skiing destination and situated in Chamoli district of the Garhwal region at an elevation of 2519 m – 3050 m. It is also known as ski capital of India and often compared with best ski resorts of the world by the foreigners. Auli also hosted the First SAF Winter Games in the year 2011.
You can learn skiing at the Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam (GMVN) that conducts 7 and 14 days skiing courses. A 500 m long ski-lift and an 800 m long chair-lift link the upper and lower slopes. To enjoy the bliss of snow visit Auli from January to March.
