Chopta – also known as the Switzerland of India – is one of the most picturesque spots in the entire Garhwal region. TUNGNATH SHIVA TEMPLE
Visitors and Lord Shiva devotees may visit the famous Tungnath Mandir. Located at height of 3680 m above sea level, Tungnath – ca. 1000 years old – is the highest temple in the world and is one of the five and the highest Panch Kedar temples located in the mountain range of Tunganath in the Rudraprayag district.
Chopta is the best starting point for a trek up the mountain to the temple at a distance of 3 km. DEORIA TAL LAKE & TUNGNATH MANDIR
Deoria Tal Lake, located in the Kedarnath Musk Deer Sanctuary at an elevation of 2438 m, is famous for its crystalline water and the most beautiful mountain panoramas.
Tungnath Shiva Temple, dedicated to god Shiva, is the highest temple in the world located at height of 3680 m above sea level, more than 1000 years old. Chopta is the best starting point for a trek up the mountain to this old temple (distance: 3 km).
Trek on mountain Chandrashila (4090m). Enroute you will find lush green meadows and you can see the entire range of snow capped Himalayas.

A picturesque place in the district headquarters of Chamoli, situated at an elevation of 1300 m above sea level. It is well known for its fresh, serene atmosphere and the temple of Lord Shiva, Gopinath Mandir.
KANCHULA KORAK MUSK DEER SANCTUARY
This wildlife sanctuary is on the road Chopta-Gopeshwar and famous for breeding musk deers. It covers an area of 5 sqkm and is an ideal place to enjoy rare Himalayan wildlife, forests and aromatic flowers.
